Each individual has been assigned a unique ID Code. Using GT01.1 as an example, the meaning of the ID Code is as follows:
First Position: Father's surname initial; e.g. Guido
Second Position: Mother's surname initial; e.g. Tesser
Third and Fourth Position: Generational number, with the compiler's
generation arbitrarily assigned as 01. Her parents are generation 02, grandparents
03, and so forth.
Fifth Position: Birth order of this child among siblings. The compiler
is the elder child in this family, so is assigned 1. Her sister, the second child, is
assigned the unique ID Code GT01.2.
Sixth Position: If necessary to maintain the uniqueness of the ID Code, a
small alpha character is assigned to the sixth position, e.g. a, b, c, etc.
When a parent is not known, or the birth order of the child is not known,
an "X" is used.
