I would like to thank the following people for their help in this task:
Barbara Tesser Butcher, for starting the whole thing off, and for loaning me great-grandpa's photo albums.
Christoper Mason, for showing me the ropes.
Michael Gallafent, for dear friendship, sparkling wit, and look-ups in the UK.
Tony Curtis, for enthusiasm and technical advice.
Cheryl Campbell, Shannon Lovelady, Rhonda Whetstone,
and Nick Lakin, cousins of varying degrees of separation,
for general support, cheer-leading, and generosity.
Peter Gidden, for cheerfully helping me chase Lakins (and other
forebears) all over Kent.
And my mother, Joy Tesser Guido, for everything else.
